Tessanne Phenomenon: Jamaica is Proud Again

It is no coincident that Jamaicans have once again united in force - their exhilarating pride publicized on social media showing support to their very own the striking, gifted, and humble Tessanne Chin.

Tessanne has wowed not only island people and the judges on "The Voice" - a singing competition aired on NBC TV in the USA, but has also connected to the Asian community and reggae fans all over the world.

This is evident on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter. The sweeping pride of Jamaicans is comparable to the excitment felt Olympic times and the anxiety felt at World Cup Football qualifiers. Of course this is courtesy to the reigning queen.

She started of this competiton very strong with her effortless rendition of Pink's "Try" and moving all four judges to turn around fussing overher, she chose Adam Levine to be her coach. She moved in the battle round knocking out the talented Donna Allen earning her the headline on Newsday - Long Island prominent newspaper, "Tessanne Chin rules first battle round."

Up next the live round! Tessanne delivered an emotional spin of Jimmy Cliff's "Many Rivers to Cross" commanding a standing ovation from Coach Adam and the audience that left her in tears.  One of the judges Cee Lo Green echoed the sentiments of many that the best was saved for last. People's Magazine declared that she stole the show. According to the Entertainment Weekly in their recap "From the beginning, Tessanne Chin has blown us away with her power ballads, charming personality, and the delicious Jamaican accent - she's definitely the "bread and butter" of Adam's team."

Jamaicans in their fervor have been racking up the votes for her, encouraging everyone to vote. One fan declared she was in the emrgency room at the hosptial getting others to whom she had shared her cough drops earlier to vote. Jamaicans living in Jamaica insist that they not be left out of the voting. They are appealing to the local telephone companies to facilitate voting as well.. Others have been using Magic Jack and Skype.

Tessanne fever is high and Jamaicans yaad (home) and abroad is behind her 100%. Now we anxiously await Thursday night decision - twiddling thumbs!
