Jamaican Bobsled Team Qualifies for Sochi Winter Olympics: Let’s cheer them on

Jamaican two-man bobsled team Winston Watts - the pilot and Marvin Dixon – the brakeman has qualified once again for the 2014 winter Olympics.  Winston came out of  retirement to represent his country for the last time and will make history as the oldest pilot of this race at the Olympics. Unfortunately, the four-man team did not make it hopefully, we will see them in the next Olympic.

Jamaica first qualified and participated in the Winter Olympics of 1988 in Calgary, Canada and subsequently 1992, 1994, and 1998. They did not qualify in 2006 and 2010 but returned in 2002.

The Jamaican bobsled team influenced the making of the movie “Cool Runnings” in 1993 which won the hearts of many. People around the world are amazed and mesmerize that this tropical country that usually excels well in the Summer Olympics participates in the Winter Olympics. The Jamaican bobsled team embodies the belief that dreams come through if you put your mind to it. The bobsled team represents the heart and soul of the Jamaican people.  “Likkle but wi tallawah”
